It was July 21, 1978, when Bishop John Donovan decreed
the birth of a new Christian community be formed in South Toledo, due
in most part to the rapid growth of Toledo to the southwest. With a new church completed in the fall of 1984 and a school building opened in the 1980-81 school year, St. Joan of Arc had laid the foundation for a solid Christian community. While classes were held at St. Joan of Arc since the 1980-81 school year, the school structure itself was actually completed in August of 1983. The building consists of 19 classrooms, administrative offices, faculty lounge, music room, video room, computer lab, clinic, library, extended day room, and gym. The STAR (State Tutoring and Auxiliary Resources) center is used for tutoring. St. Joan of Arc is made up of people who care. They care about God, themselves, and others. It is that feeling that makes St. Joan of Arc stand out as a community of Christian commitment.
