St. Joan of Arc’s philosophy concerning academic achievement is based upon the premise that children have diverse capabilities and individual patterns of growth and learning.

Because resources for special services are limited, we cannot always meet the special needs of some students. In this situation, every effort will be made to assist the family with enrollment in another Catholic school with specialized programs to meet individual needs.

Courses of Study

Courses of study for all subjects, formulated by the Diocese and approved by the State of Ohio, establish the basis for curriculum and instruction. Copies of the courses of study are available in the school office.

Testing

The Scantron Standardized Achievement Test will be given to grades 3-7 in the fall and spring as required by the Diocese.  Grade 2 will be given the test only in the spring.

The ACRES test which measures knowledge in Religion will be given to grades 5 and 8 in the fall.

The Diocesan Writing Compentency test will be given in the late spring to grades 3, 5, and 7.
